Work has just started on the first album of the Jakoostik Ensemble. formerly known as the Calabash Acoustic Ensemble the group has become an annual fixture at the Calabash Literary Festival held in Calabash Bay in Jamaica and it's core members are Wayne Armond, Steve Golding, Billy Mystic & Seretse Small.

Every year the group is given the task of preparing a performance of the music of a significant songwriter chosen by the Calabash team namely Colin Channer, Kwame Dawes and Justine Henzell.

Over the years the ensemble has given tribute to the writings of Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, Third World, and Bob Andy.

The album seeks to capture the acoustic sound and approach of a group that has become part of a tradition on the last Sunday at the Calabash Festival.
