JAKOOSTIK RECORDS WITH NELLY

"Poor in my pocket" is a song that Dominican singer/songwriter Nelly Starre wrote for a family wedding. She performed it with Jakoostik Music Ensemble at the Year of the Child Jazz Festival in Dominica and it was decided that they would capture it in a recording. Recorded partly at Griot Music's Project Studio and produced by Wayne Armond it blends Jakoostik's rich acoustic guitar approach with Nelly's blues vocal stylings. The single will be released on Nelly's upcoming album
DUBBING THE STONE

Andrew Stone has started recording  with Seretse and Paul Madden seeking to enter the world of Dub music. The project blends the songwriting and poetry of Stone with Classic Dub techniques. It will be a homage to the sounds of King Jammies and Lee Scratch Perry with a focus on entering the European market.

NEWS

Seretse @ Redbones Blues Cafe

Seretse
Returns to Jazz
Grammy Style

Seretse is booked to perform at a series of five performances at Redbones Blues Cafe from August to December. He will be performing with his band "Seretse & Friends" and will focus the nights on more artistic and Jazzy material. Redbones in their efforts to provide quality live music entertainment for their patrons would like to see the Thursday night musical offering be more for listening to quality music and approached Seretse to consider performing on a few of the Thursday Nights.

The dates for the series are August 12, September 16, October 21, November 18 and December 9 and will feature Seretse performing with his band along with a special guest. One of the ideas Seretse is contemplating is taking material from Jazz albums that have won Grammy Awards over the years. In the meantime he is working on the set lists for the shows and contacting musicians.

This will be quite a refreshing series of performances for though trained in Jazz and composition Seretse has not had a lot of time to indulge his favourite musical expressions instead focusing on being the CEO of Griot Music and working on various music industry initiatives he is more than ready to return to exploring the world of music and his heart with his guitar.
