Griot Music in 2012  2012 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for us at Griot Music.
Starting with ECLECTIC on January 21 featuring Tanya Stephens, Tessanne Chin and Dubtonic Kru at the Courtleigh Auditorium. It promises to be an exciting and fun night with an after party featuring DJ Smoke from Rennaissance and ZJ Electra from ZIP FM.
The Jamaica Global Battle of the Bands in 2012 will be held at the Courtleigh Auditorium on December 8, 2012 and we will be adding two more events to our calendar that will feature the top six bands.
Jakoostik will be going on tour in New York in February 2012 and there are negotiations underway for a Japan tour in may.
Jazz for Hope 2012 is scheduled for July 7, 2012 and we are looking forward to recording another album after the successul response to Jazz for Hope 2011.
So look forward to more shows, better concerts, bigger events and more recordings.
With the success of Jakoostik we are looking forward to more opportunities to develop and spread the love of caribbean music.
We are so proud of Dubtonic Kru who has done so well in 2011. They are great ambassadors of Jamaica and Jamaican music.

The winners of the 2011 Jamaica Global Battle of the Bands Competition, "Di Blueprint" will be heading the GBOB World Finals in Romania in June. The Finals will be held on June 2 in Bucharest Romania.
Also going to Romania will be the band Dubtonic Kru who will perform at the World Finals as the reiging world champions from the previous year.
